Happy Mother's Day!

So thankful for my mother, miss her so much especially on days like today. Eight years have gone by without her now. Thankful though for the years I did have her in my life, and the wonderful example she left me. She taught me how to be a better mother to my 4 children through her love for her children and grandchildren. Most thankful for her walk with God. I'm so blessed to be a mother myself, to these 4 wonderful, loving children. What a special privilege it is to be their mother!

Happy 8th Birthday, Joshua!

How quickly you're growing up! What a sweet, loving heart you have! We are so thankful you became part of our family 8 years ago, how precious you are. We're so thankful you have been protected many times in  your young life! Your willingness to help out is just part of you. Since Dad has to work so early in the morning, we are celebrating with peanut butter bars and chocolate cake tomorrow evening. Today is absolutely beautiful, so after(and before) his math and reading test for school, Josh has plans to play outside.
Josh wearing boots Grandma Karen got him, he likes them so much and is very proud of them!

Anxious to try it out!

Dairy

Work is moving quickly on the dairy. The builders started on Monday, May 6th, and by today Wednesday, May 8th the parlor was under roof, with tin on the roof and most of the sides framed up. The children and I have really enjoyed going down every opportunity we can watching. The building crew just about runs every where they go, which explains why the building is going up as fast as it is!

Looks busy, but this is a picture of the trusses being put up.

Hannah walking down into the pit, where we will be milking the cows

This is Blaze,  a pony that showed up at our neighbors house. He brought her to us, and we kept her for 2 days until her owner showed up to claim her. Her real name was Penny, but we thought of her as Blaze due to her blazing blue eyes.

As I take the picture, I say smile.

Notice Noah's smile is sorta changing, other 3 don't notice just yet.

They figured out Noah was hamming it up for the camera now though!

Blaze and Oreo, the Holstein heifer.

While the little boys played toys outside, Hannah and Zach enjoyed reading on the porch swing.

Precious memories, rich blessings-Special Meeting Visits

Last week we thoroughly enjoyed visits with our workers and visiting workers. We met Scott when he along with enjoying Randy and Shannon came for supper and the night on Thursday, April 25th. For Friday noon, we met Mary and enjoyed having Shannon and Sara as well for lunch. Light snack at Dad's house on Friday afternoon with 8 workers and then Randy and Scott took a nice adventure mushroom hunting with us around 5. No luck with mushrooms, so back home for home fried fish, homemade fries and hush puppies for supper and Randy and Scott spent night again. How blessed we were to have Gods ministers in our home! Can't even count the blessings we partake of in Gods way. Saturday lunch was at Dads  house with all 9 workers on the rounds there including Luther, Curtis, Randy, Shannon, Scott, Mary, Doris, Carol and Sara,  along with Dad and Diana(of course!) and Angie, Tad and Emily, and my family and I(6 of us). It was Tads 40th birthday so I made a mayonnaise cake for him, complete with Holstein cow for decoration. We received such rich bread from Heaven at Sunday Special Meeting, like Luther shared same things we've been hearing for years, yet your heart is always filled. I'm so thankful for that.
