Our parakeet, Tweety, died today. We had him for at least 10 years, maybe getting closer to 11. Zach was just barely walking when we got him from the pet store in our mall. He started having problems with his feet a few weeks ago and could hardly stand on his perch. He took to laying in his food dish, I tried giving him a basket but he wouldn't use it. When I uncovered him this morning, he couldn't lift his head and keep his eyes closed. He died within the hour. Such a good little budgie, he talked extremely fast but you could pick up on him mimicking Shawn clearing his throat, phone ringing, and saying Tweety brush your beak, Want your cage cleaned, and Tweety wanta bath in Shawn's voice, plus many other things we couldn't always pick up on. We'll miss the little buddy!
